Sunday, August 10
Someone made me bacon and eggs in my dream. I took it as inspiration for my breakfast.
Monday, August 11
Today was cooler. I felt more motivated as the temperature went down. I’ve been slowly transferring my posts from Blogger to WordPress. I can’t believe I wrote all these. It feels like I’m leafing through my scrapbook.
Tuesday, August 12
Sometimes it takes time to prove an instinct was right. This time, it took more than ten years. While I’m not always trying to prove it (because sometimes it’s wrong too), for this one, let me say this, Mother. See? I told you so!!
Wednesday, August 13
Obon has started. I woke up at 5:15 and went to the temple. I’ve always tried to be the first one to arrive, but I failed again this year.
Thursday, August 14
Obon week is something special. Because many people return to town, the atmosphere changes. Stores were filled with teenagers and foreigners, and some people gathered in the convenience store parking lot. Non-local people smell different. Halloween decorations are already in the stores.
Friday, August 15
History cannot be understood from a one-sided story. It’s never easy to see it from other sides, but I believe this is the only thing I can do to deal with this heavy burden left by a painful legacy. The more I learn about the world, the heavier this day feels.
Saturday, August 16
I’ve become version 4.5. Perhaps version 2.7 had better social features, and version 3.4 was quicker and sharper, but I prefer the current version. I had sushi with my mom, followed by a pumpkin pudding my brother had brought me.
