Week 16: throb

computer keyboard, cranberry juice, red notebook

Sunday, July 6
A repairperson at the car dealer told me I should drive more if I want to keep my car in good condition. True, I haven’t gone for a drive without a purpose in a while.

A long snake was chilling near the front door. I freaked out and approached it with a long stick, an incense stick, and a spray. Luckily, it was gone while I was still figuring out what to do with those weapons. Now I know what the pigeons were trying to tell me. They must have been harassed by that guy.

Tuesday, July 8
I destroyed the pigeons’ nest. They won’t come back and I don’t want unwelcome guests. I also hid the coffee tree in the backyard. I’m tired of hearing my brother and nephew say “why isn’t your coffee tree doing well? Ours are thriving” over and over again.

Thank you, David Lowe, for releasing your BBC News theme on Spotify. I immediately added it to my playlist.

heavy rain

Thursday, July 10
Heavy rain and thunder. The first blackout of the year. I forgot to unplug the landline phone, and it broke easily. I heard a strange clicking sound when the lightning hit.

Friday, July 11
It was a cool day. I wish it would stay like this until September. I went for early voting and had ice cream afterward.

Saturday, July 12
I saw a boy who looked remarkably like one of my favorite athletes. He should be competing in Utah or somewhere right now, and there’s no way he’d be in a countryside cafe eating a burger with his friends. And yet, life is funny. I pray for his success from my seat, just in case.
