Oh, a newcomer? 

 

Monday, April 7 
There wasn’t much rice on the shelf, and the brand I’ve always bought has gone. The price of rice has doubled in the past 6 months or so. It’s depressing. But the store had a lot of fresh spring vegetables at low prices, so I tried to cheer myself up with them.

Tuesday, April 8
It’s a flower festival day at our temple. When I was little, I used to dislike the tea they served on this day. Then, I’d begun to get used to it. Today, I even found it tasty.

Cherry blossoms were blooming. As usual. And that’s a blessing.

I tried a store-fried sausage doughnut at Seven-Eleven. It was literally a sausage wrapped in donut dough, and it tasted exactly how I imagined.

Saturday, April 12
A little girl was looking for a cookbook at the library. She was beside me but was soon taken back to the children’s book section. And this reminded me of my debut in the adult section. It took courage at first, but I felt like my playground had hugely expanded.
