Kids are now on summer vacation. The food court was full of students doing homework. Some had too many textbooks and it looked as if they had moved in.

I bought a new notebook. There are no ruled lines, but some pages are already filled with drawings and sketches. It feels like I’m collaborating with someone.
Saturday, August 2
I woke up early and cooked hamburger steak and gyoza for my nephew and brother. Hamburger steak is one of my nephew’s favorite dishes, but I’m getting tired of making the same thing almost every week. Hence the gyoza—something different. When I asked him which one he wanted, he said, “Pancake.”
