Letter #7: Elected members

National election day

Sunday was the election day here. I like the smooth touch of voting papers, but I don’t like the word “election”. I often get confused about whether it was L or R. People easily let go of my L/R mispronunciation, but they have no mercy on this word. 

A surrogate

While discussing certain topics and solutions, one person consulted with an AI chatbot and shared its answers with a smug face. The person kept going without offering any opinions of one’s own, saying things like “I asked this and AI says this…” I wondered if this person decided to lend the body to AI. Has that kind of job already started?

Goldfish

I feed my goldfish every day. They have a big appetite, so I feed them 2 to 3 times a day. It looks like their size has doubled within a year and I’m a bit worried. How big goldfish can be?

Breeder

I’m also tending rice fish. Feeding twice a day, but soon they will be hibernating. This summer, I succeeded in breeding 3 rice fish. I carefully look them after in a separate bowl and let them join in a big bowl once they become big enough. What a proud moment that was.

However

I failed to tend Japanese basil.
