Yesterday, after the Christmas party, I saw Gunma-chan leaving the mall. It’s been a while since I last saw him. He started his career as a prefecture’s mascot, and now he’s a nationwide popular guy. I called his name when he walked past me, and then he stopped and waved his hands with cute gestures.

A practical trick to remembering your dream is to catch the tail of the dream and pull it when you’re about to wake up. It will always try to escape, so once you pull it, you need to pet and tame it again and again. If you’re lucky, you can keep some of its powder. You need a little practice.

One of the local bookshops scaled down its selling space. They decided to remove almost all the specialized books. I love e-books, but I still love going to bookshops to enjoy the chance encounters. I wouldn’t call myself bookish, because I’ve seen truly bookish people in my life, but even as a moderate book lover, I hope it won’t become a shop that sells only bestsellers.

There’s one Christmas night that I want to go back and spend differently. This has nothing to do with nostalgia or sweet memories. It’s one of my plain regrets. And if I have to carry them throughout my life, I should at least try to handle them as lessons to guide me, not a burden to drag me down.
Merry Christmas.
