Our neighbor told us they spotted a bear in the area. We all know there must be at least one or two, because we basically share the habitable space, but so far we have never encountered one.

I woke up at 3am because of the noise. I heard a beast breathing and running in our yard. I quickly remembered the story I heard yesterday and thought it was a bear. I got very nervous in bed. Darkness makes small things seem big. When I thought about it in daylight, it was probably a wild boar.

When I went into a pharmacy, I heard a familiar sound. The sound that instantly gives me a sense of comfort and lets me know that all my HP and MP are restored… It was the inn sound from Dragon Quest… They set this sound as a door chime, so each time someone comes or goes, we hear this “fully recovered” sound. I wonder if my dentist set the “level up” sound as an exit door chime.

I heard “Video Kills The Radio Star” when I was paying for the car wash. The machine suddenly played a specific verse of that song. Just because I chose bubble wash…? Bubble in Japanese is “awa”. I couldn’t stop laughing in the car during the wash.

My mom and I were invited to the kindergarten’s Christmas party. We’d been quietly excited all month because we’d never been to an event like this. My nephew said “I will be a tamago,” and he was indeed a tamago. He was wearing a bright yellow tamago hat and a tamago costume and dancing shyly. At the end, he was wrapped in a norimaki ribbon with his shrimp, tuna, and cucumber friends. It was cute, but I was disappointed because our almost-weekly Just Dance sessions obviously didn’t do anything for his dancing.
