It’s raining, foggy, and 20c. I smell the fragrant olive blooming in my neighborhood. Autumn is here, and so are my fluffy socks. I’ll add another blanket to my bed today. How’s your day going?

My bird, Goma yawns
I have an 11-year-old bird and a 3-year-old nephew. My nephew wants to touch and be friends with my bird, but my bird never allows kids to touch. As a bird-loving aunt, I want them to get along. So I’ve been trying some stuff.
In the past, I gave my nephew a real scale bird toy (java sparrow plushie which looks exactly like my bird) to get used to them. Then, we practice whistling to get my bird’s attention. Now I’m taking a more direct way; making a video of my bird talking to my nephew. He questions why my bird talks, but so far I’ve managed to make him believe. It’s like a Santa Claus, grown-ups have a responsibility to keep some dreams and fantasies alive.
Otherwise, what’s the point of becoming an adult?
Stay warm,
Setsuko
