Week 31: Fallen leaves and a warm cookie

fallen leaves

Sunday, November 9
Our household’s annual fallen-leaf-collecting season has officially begun. It feels endless every year. This year we adopted a blower to make things more efficient. I didn’t realize it required technique, and so far it feels like I’m doubling the work.

I had a chance to smell the fragrance I used to wear when I was around eighteen to twenty. I remember thinking it suited me and that I liked it, but now I couldn’t stand it. It felt too light and… superficial? I guess it was probably fine for that age.

Tuesday, November 11
I bought a diary for next year.

I saw that my go-to gas station had gotten a new car wash machine, and I could finally use it. The brush was brand-new and there were more options than the previous machine. They also started offering a subscription plan. I probably won’t use it, but I’ve always imagined that if I became a billionaire, I’d use the car wash every week and always choose the highest-priced option.

Thursday, November 13
I had a freshly baked chocolate chip cookie at Seven-Eleven. It tasted heavenly, but the magic didn’t last. It turned into a normal chocolate cookie after about five minutes. Next time I should eat it in the parking lot and have a coffee with me.
