I watched a TV program about Finland the other day. Finland has long been introduced as an ideal country in Japan — a place where people are happy, easygoing, and sauna-loving Moomins. But the program I saw recently tried to break that image. It was probably the first time I’d seen Japanese TV cover their social issues so frankly.

I’ve been feeling a bit low lately. Probably fatigue from the summer.

A member of a Japanese boy group was suspended after being exposed as a two-timer — or so I heard. I know a few girls who are really into that group. They even have household altars for their faves, which is a pretty common thing for otaku here… I think. I’m worried about them, but I have no idea what to say to comfort them.

I heard a Christmas song in the supermarket — the first one this year. It was “Joy to the World,” not Wham!’s.

Ten strikeouts and three home runs. It was as if Shohei was playing the game all by himself. It kind of reminded me of a Vincent Gallo movie. I wonder what he’s cooking these days. I liked his album “When.”
